Elliott Carter Special Grant Program

The Amphion Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce the first round of 2026 Elliott Carter Special Grant recipients. The Elliott Carter Special Grant Program was established in 2019 to support significant projects devoted to the music of Elliott Carter. Applications for the program are accepted on a near-ongoing basis and are reviewed twice annually in the spring and fall. The three awarded projects for this round feature substantial activity involving the music of Elliott Carter at an exceptional level and include both live performances and recordings.

JACK Quartet, String Quartets and Quintets 
An all-Carter album featuring Quintet for Clarinet and String Quartet and Quintet for Piano and String Quartet with additional short works for string quartet.

San Bernardino Symphony Association, A Musical Conversation with Strings: The Modernist Works of Elliott Carter 
A program of Carter works for strings, including Elegy for String Quartet, String Quartet No. 2 & 3, and Tre Duetti for Violin and Cello.

Administered by the Amphion Foundation, the Elliott Carter Special Grant Program is operated separately from the regular grantmaking activities of the Foundation.
